Notice to remove vehicles
Springston South Reserve,
The Selwyn District Council intends to
remove all unregistered and unwarranted
vehicles that have been placed on the above
Council Reserve. The removal of these
vehicles will take place on 31 August.
It is an offence under the Reserves Act 1977
(Section 110) and the Selwyn District Council
Parks and Reserves Bylaw 2009 (Clause 7.5)
to abandon vehicles on a reserve. As the
administering body of the land, Council has
the powers to take possession of the vehicles
and dispose of them.

Ellesmere Water Race
On behalf of the Selwyn District Council,
Glenroy Community Irrigation Co.
Ltd are temporarily shutting off the Upper
Ellesmere water race intake and scheme to
allow for intake maintenance.
The intake will be closed on Tuesday, 28
August and will be reopened on Thursday,
30 August. Races affected include Rakaia
Tce, Sharlands, Waikimihia, Rakaia, Selwyn
and Illingworth Roads and all off-shoots.
Flow may take time to reach all downstream
users of the scheme.

community pools require Lifeguard Staff
for the upcoming summer season. Great
customer service skills, reliability and good
swimming skills are required. Training for

Hoskyns Road is going to be closed from
Jones Road to Maddisons Road from
27 August to 12 March next year for
contractors to do necessary work in
connection with the development of Izone.
As the work involves the laying of a sewer
main down the middle of Hoskyns Road,
closing the road is considered the safest
The contractors (Sicon/BG Contracting)
have advised that they will open the road
over the Christmas break. During the
closure the contractors will maintain
access to residents and businesses along
Signs are being installed at each end of the
closure to warn motorists.
Those travelling from Darfield to Rolleston
can use the Aylesbury Road -- Wards Road
route which adds 1km to the journey.

fundraising committee has organised
a series of meetings about the Selwyn
Aquatic Strategy and support being given
to community/school pools. The first of
these takes place in the Southbridge
Town Hall, upstairs lounge, at 7pm on
Thursday, 30 August.
