A low impact fun exercise class aimed at active
people 50 years and over
Mondays 1.30 -- 2.15pm

Move it to Music
Experienced tutor uses music, fun equipment and
a sense of humour to get you moving. Suitable for
those with arthritis or the less active who want to
"use it not lose it". Cuppa afterwards.

Creative NZ's Creative
Are you involved in the arts, but need a
bit of financial assistance to make your
project work? The closing date for Creative
NZ -- Creative Communities Scheme funding

Two years on, how are we doing?
West Melton Hall
Sunday, 9 September, 9am -- 3pm
Cost: $45 per person, includes handouts,
morning/afternoon tea and lunch
Dr Olive J Webb will lead the workshop designed to
assist people to understand the effects of the Canterbury
earthquakes and other traumatising events on us and
our families, to help us take control of our recovery. The
workshop is supported by the Selwyn District Council.

Ellesmere Water Race Shutdown
On behalf of the Selwyn District Council, Glenroy Community
Irrigation Co. Ltd are temporarily shutting off the Upper Ellesmere
water race intake and scheme to allow for intake maintenance.
The intake will be closed on Tuesday, 28 August and will be
reopened on Thursday, 30 August. Races affected include Rakaia
Tce, Sharlands, Waikimihia, Rakaia, Selwyn and Illingworth Roads
and all off-shoots. Flow may take time to reach all downstream
users of the scheme. An affected area map is available at
www.selwyn.govt.nz. Any questions relating to this shutdown
should be directed to Selwyn District Council on 03 347 2800
(24 hour answer service).
Lincoln Farmers' and Craft Market
Saturday, 1 September, 10am to 1pm.
Bring your prize-winning scarecrow along between
10 -- 10.30am. Judging at 12 noon.
Entries minimum 1m high -- stakes will be provided.

choice categories. Plus a wide selection of local crafts, fresh

community pools require Lifeguard Staff
for the upcoming summer season. Great
customer service skills, reliability and good
swimming skills are required. Training for
lifeguard qualification will be offered.

Reminder -- the Council's Berm
Maintenance Policy comes into effect on
Saturday, 1 September. The policy means
district landowners are expected to mow
the berms immediately adjacent to their
properties. There's more information in the
policy also about who has responsibility for
repairs and reinstatement of berms.
