Proposed Classification of Reserve
(Reserve 3048 and 4349, also known as
Springston South Reserve)
The Council has decided to formally request
the Department of Conservation (DOC)
to classify the Springston South Reserve
(encompassing reserves 3048 and 4349,
including the Selwyn Huts and Domain) into:
a) a Recreation Reserve of 4.6899 hectares,
b) a Local Purpose Hut Settlement of 3.4314
Copies of the proposed plan can be inspected
at the Council Offices, 2 Norman Kirk Drive,
Rolleston and at Council's Library/Service
Centres in Darfield, Lincoln or Leeston.

Selwyn Huts Reserve Classification

A summary of objections and submissions will
be forwarded to DOC, along with the Council's
proposal. DOC will then decide whether or
not to classify the reserve.
(This is a public notice under
Section 119 of the Reserves Act 1977)
We are very excited
to have our term four programme finalised. A
copy will be dropped into your letterbox or feel
free to pick one up from the community centre.
Enrolment courses for this fourth term include
golf for adults and children, the ever-popular
flower arranging with Esme Humm, Sign
Language for toddlers and adults and a range
of computer workshops designed for those new
to Facebook, Skype and email.
A family day at the races
Sunday, 30 September, first race 11.55am
As in past years, all Selwyn ratepayers who turn up at the
Motukarara races will get a chance to win a rates rebate.
All you have to do is enter the draw for a horse in Race 8.
Whoever draws the winning horse will win a General Rates
rebate up to a value of $1500.
Admission, race books and kids' entertainment are all free.

The Sim Safe Driver Training Simulator is used regularly in
Selwyn District to offer an alternative learning experience to our
young drivers at the Leading Learners course.
As part of the Driver Distraction campaign, Selwyn Road Safety
has organised the Sim Safe Driver Training simulator to visit
Rolleston on Thursday, 27 September
between 9am and 1.30pm
Only 10 places available
Free 20 minute session
Available to all drivers that hold a current licence
As the number of sessions are limited, you need to contact us as
soon as possible to secure your spot. To apply, contact Ngaire
Tinning at the Council on 347 2901.

draw 3 must be claimed by 5pm on Monday, 1 October.
