The Council is carrying out its
annual residents survey from 25
May. The survey asks residents
what they think of Council services
like the water supply and roads
and about the Council's future
plans for the district.
To help our future planning we are also asking for
residents' views on topical issues. For example,
in this year's survey, we are asking people to
comment on how the Council can help meet the
needs of new residents.
We will be contacting 1,000 residents and asking
them to take part in the survey.
SeniorNet classes resume in Lincoln on
5 June. Classes are being held Wednesday
afternoons and Friday mornings. Topics
cover: introduction to computers, word
processing, excel spreadsheets, internet

TV Takeback Program
The Council reached its target of 1,810 TVs sooner than expected for the
Ministry for the Environment funded TV recycling scheme. As other areas
of the greater Christchurch area have not reached their targets, we have
been allocated another 800 TVs that can be recycled. This brings the
new total to 2,610 TVs that can be collected as part of this programme.
TVs can be recycled at The Pines Resource Recovery Park on Burnham
School Road during normal opening hours (Monday to Friday 9am --
4.30pm, Saturday/Sunday 10am -- 4pm).
They can also be recycled at the Sicon Yard in Darfield on Mathias St.
This will be open for one day only on the 15 June from 9am -- 3pm.
TVs will be collected under the Ministry for the Environment program
until the limit of TVs we can accept has been reached. The number
collected will be updated weekly on Council's website.
